Recover For All’s Privacy Policy

Who we are

Recovery for All (formerly 12 Step For Everyone) ("Recovery for All," "we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. We run trainings, meetings, and leadership programs that adapt 12-step practices for personal transformation and community organizing.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at www.recoveryforall.us (and our former site, www.12stepforeveryone.org), our email newsletter, our text messaging program, our event registrations, our online and in-person trainings and meetings, and our donation pages (together, our "Services").

By using our Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you sign up for our newsletter or texts, register for a training or event, fill out a form, contact us, apply for a leadership role, or donate, we may collect:

  • Name, email address, and mobile phone number

  • Mailing address, city, state, and ZIP code

  • Date of birth or age range, if you choose to share it

  • Who referred you to us, and your answers on registration or application forms

  • Messages you send us, including replies to our texts and emails

What you share in meetings and trainings. Our programs involve personal reflection. We do not record or keep what participants share in meetings unless we tell you in advance and you agree. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Donation information. Donations are processed by third-party payment processors (such as [Action Network / ActBlue / Squarespace Commerce]). We receive your name, contact details, and donation amount, but we do not receive or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website or open our emails, we and our service providers may collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring links, and whether you opened an email or clicked a link. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies.

Information from others. We may receive information about you from a member who refers you, from partner organizations that co-host an event, or from our service providers.

We use your information to run our programs and stay in touch with you, including to:

  • Register you for trainings, meetings, and events, and send confirmations and reminders

  • Send our newsletter, updates, and calls to action by email or text, if you have opted in

  • Connect you with a local chapter or group near you

  • Review leadership and trainer applications and support your growth in our programs

Text messaging (SMS) program

If you give us your mobile number and opt in, Recovery for All may send you text messages about trainings, meetings, events, program updates, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising.

  • Consent. We text you only if you opt in, for example by checking a box on a sign-up form or texting a keyword to our number. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of attending any training, meeting, or event, or of making a donation.

  • Frequency. Message frequency varies, typically up to 3 messages per month.

  • Cost. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.

  • Opt out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. We will send one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed. You can re-join at any time by texting START or signing up again.

  • Help. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at hello@recoveryforall.us.

  • Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your mobile information is never shared. We do not share, sell, or rent mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data and consent with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. The information-sharing practices described elsewhere in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers that deliver our messages on our behalf (such as our texting platform).

How we share your information

We share personal information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers. Companies that help us run our Services, such as our website host (Squarespace), our email, texting, and organizing platform (Action Network), payment processors, and video meeting tools. They may use your information only to provide services to us.

  • Program leaders. Trainers and chapter leaders may see your name and contact details so they can welcome you and run the trainings or groups you join.

  • Co-hosted events. If you register for an event we co-host with a partner, we will tell you on the sign-up form if your information will be shared with that partner.

  • Legal reasons. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the safety and rights of our participants, our organization, or others.

  • Organizational changes. If Recovery for All merges with or transfers its programs to another nonprofit, your information may be transferred, subject to this policy.

We never share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data for marketing purposes, as described in the Text messaging section above.
